Death Toll from Bhotekoshi Floods Rises to 469

Kathmandu: The death toll from the Bhotekoshi floods has risen to 469, according to Nepal Police. The highest number of fatalities has been reported in Chitwan with 178, followed by 110 in Nawalparasi East, 44 in Gorkha, 37 in Nuwakot and 33 in Dhading.

So far, 1,545 people have been rescued from flood-affected areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading. Meanwhile, 60 injured people are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Kathmandu Valley.

Personnel from the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and various government offices are also among those reported missing following the floods. Police said 2,381 people, including local residents, remain unaccounted for in Rasuwa.

The missing include both Nepali and foreign nationals. Police said search operations for missing people and the identification of recovered bodies have been intensified in the affected areas.
